Returning Student - A student defined as a former degree-seeking student who has not been enrolled for one or more semesters. Returning students are required to update their admissions file before registration. They must follow the same admissions and registration guidelines as new students.

Retention - Refers to a student's persistence at the College from one term to another. For official reporting, retention is calculated by identifying the number of students from each cohort that return the fall after their entering term. 

Retention Rate - The percentage of first-time bachelor degree-seeking undergraduates from the previous fall who are again enrolled in the current fall.
